Letter: Three cheers for Jamie Oliver

Three cheers to Jamie's School Dinners on Channel Four. I even let my seven- and nine-year-olds stay up and watch some of it this week. But why is it on so late? I think all children should watch it. Is it because of the swearing?

How ironic, when the mainstream soaps are on well before the 9pm watershed.

I would rather my kids saw the sense of Jamie's School Dinners than the smutty violence and sex-obsessed soaps.

And as to the swearing in the programme ... it's nothing compared to the expletives we hear to and from school from the teenagers we pass. And that's well before the watershed.

Kathleen O'Neill, Croydon.
