Seven per cent of children are educated in the independent sector, and Iwonder how many authorities are taking these schools into theirconfidence about the way forward. I have a good relationship withcertain areas within my local authority, but it does not yet feel like acommon approach.
The issues concerning children are relevant to all who have theresponsibility for safeguarding children and promoting theirwelfare.
