This is why the NSPCC is getting parliamentary candidates to sign an election pledge for children ahead of the election.
Through the election pledge, we hope to secure a cross-party commitment to provide urgent child protection services such as walk-in centres and helplines for vulnerable children.
To drive support for the election pledge, the NSPCC is touring key constituencies to secure signatures. Campaigners will also be mobilised to lobby their local candidates to add their names.
The NSPCC is urging all voters to contact their local candidates direct via its web site which will enable people to find out who their local candidates are, check whether they have signed the election pledge and email those who have yet to add their signature.
