Letter: Abolish disability means testing

1 min read
It has taken years for the Government to respond to calls that the means test on parents of disabled children had to end, as part of the Disabled Facilities Grants process.

Homes Fit For Children has been campaigning on this issue for some time and we have brought this right into the political arena.

In this campaign we believe it is the right of every child to have a safe, accessible home. The means test is a barrier to this right, so we believe it should be abolished. In Northern Ireland the means test was abolished in February 2004. In Wales the means test will be abolished this autumn.

In England...? It is up to you. Contact your MP now, tell him/her of this campaign and ask for their support for abolition. Do it now before it is too late.
