Paul Eeles, director of 14 to 19 at ALP, told CYP Now that local authorities will have to recruit new, potentially less experienced staff to fill posts that were supposed to be taken over by workers from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). He said 75 per cent of senior posts are vacant in London and 60 per cent are empty in Manchester. "My concern is that the posts won't be filled before April," he said.
Bob Rollings, industrial officer for the Public and Commercial Services Union, said many LSC staff opted to move to new quangos the Young People's Learning Agency and the Skills Funding Agency instead.
