How does it differ to other centres? In many ways it doesn't. This is still a children's centre that is open to everyone in the community. But all the normal childcare and family support services run in a children's centre are set in the context of a Jewish community. All the food served is kosher to ensure it meets the requirements of Jewish families. The centre is also normally open from Sunday to Friday afternoon. It closes for most of Friday and Saturday in honour of Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. Jewish holidays and festivals are also honoured and celebrated by the children.
