The group chief executive officer of Barclays, John Varley, has been appointed as honorary president of the UK Drug Policy Commission. The Commission is an independent charity, which aims to improve understanding of drug policy issues, and champions an evidence-led response to social problems caused by illegal drugs. Varley is also chair of Business Action on Homelessness and president of the Employer's Forum on Disability.
