The £575,000 centre has been purpose-built next to a new community and leisure centre on the John Port School site, and will provide support to families with children up to 11-years-old.
Why has it been launched? The county council wants to give younger and older children the chance to share opportunities and make services more accessible. Councillor Barry Lewis, lead member for young people says: "This new centre will put facilities at the heart of the community so families with young children can use them easily".
What will it provide? Services offered at the centre include family learning activities, child health clinics, under-ones' groups, stay-and-play activities and dance sessions. Families will also be able to take advantage of a toy library, parenting courses, adult education courses, midwife parenting classes and fathers' activities.
