
Prospects, a company that runs education and youth services, has been given a three-year contract for Connexions services in the county.
Nigel Wratten, head of information management services at Gloucestershire County Council, told CYP Now there would be redundancies following the transfer of Connexions services to Prospects but that the number "was not known at this date".
He added it remained to be seen whether any Connexions centres would be closed down as a result of the changes.
Jon Richards, senior national officer at Unison's education workforce unit, said he had concerns about the effect any job losses would have on the level of service. "Disruption to the service and job losses are always something we are against. If the service is transferring we don't understand why there is a need for job losses," he said.
