IT expert costs YJB 336,000

Youth Justice
The Youth Justice Board (YJB) paid 336,000 for the services of its chief information officer last year, according to its annual report.

The YJB refused to disclose precisely how much IT expert Mike Mackay waspaid during the period, but said the figure of 336,000 took intoaccount his salary, expenses, agency fees and VAT.

The figure is more than 10 times the salary of a youth offending teamworker.

YJB chief executive John Drew said: "Mackay is contracted on an agencybasis and details of all monies paid for his services are outlined inour annual report."
