"My last job was leading Amnesty International's global campaign to stopviolence against women," she says. "But I was interested in beinginvolved in a national campaign and, to be honest, I was shocked that acountry like Britain has such high levels of poverty."
Fisher took over the reins at End Child Poverty three months ago and herexperience of political campaigning will be useful in her new role. Herremit is to broaden the scope of the organisation, whose members includeall of the major children's charities. Fisher says that End ChildPoverty has established its credentials among the children's sector butthe challenge now is to attract the public too.
