What it is: A centre for young victims of crime built by young offenders

Goals: To help victims rebuild their self-esteem and confidence

Funding: Location and bills are funded by the Metropolitan Police, staffing costs are met by Enfield council and a children's fund grant, and charity Child Victims of Crime supplies additional equipment

The Young People Affected by Crime Centre is the only project of its kind in London that focuses on helping young victims of crime rebuild their lives.

The centre, which opened last year, is a joint initiative between the Metropolitan Police and Enfield council's youth offending team, and is based in a police-owned flat.
