Goal: To help children and adults gain new skills and forge stronger relationships within families and between generations

While young people seem to get the hang of new technology virtually straight away, older folk sometimes get left behind.
The Two Generation Club at Abbs Cross School and Arts College in Havering, Essex, aims to bridge that gap by bringing different generations together to learn information and communications technology (ICT) skills.
Pupils spend half an hour after school on Fridays with ICT teacher Sue Webb before the session is opened up to family members, including grandparents, neighbours and friends. The club is a chance for adults who are new to ICT to learn the basics of computer use, such as accessing the internet, sending emails and shopping and banking online. Meanwhile, young people gain new skills and confidence through teaching others.
