A quarter of secondary schools either run a longer school day or intend to open for longer, according to a survey by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

Learning charity ContinYou is searching for the UK's best breakfast clubs. Up to £3,000 is up for grabs in the Breakfast Clubs Plus Awards, launched in partnership with Kellogg's. The deadline is 12 December. Apply online at www.breakfastclubplus.org.uk.
