1 min read
An innovative online system that enables users to see and search the provision of extended services could be rolled out across England and Wales.

Bedfordshire Council is currently developing an interactive map thatwill contain information about the location and details of extendedservices offered by schools in the area.

As well as giving a clear overview of where services are provided, andso help to avoid unnecessary duplication, users will be able to easilysearch for a particular type of service. The map is due to be launchedin the next few weeks.

Extended schools co-ordinator David Fraser, who is leading thedevelopment, believes there is great potential for other localauthorities to produce a similar system.

"There is no end of possibilities and no reason why it could not beapplied to the whole of England and Wales," he said.
