Above all, leaders must be skilled facilitators who can get professionals from different backgrounds working together. There are tried-and-tested techniques that centre managers and school leaders can use. Many are drawn from training and adult learning and based on new knowledge about how people think.
Slow down. Creating a culture where people can work together is about building relationships, trust and understanding, which takes time. So you may have to take a step back and look at how you're going to do that successfully. Check out Guy Claxton's book Hare Brain, Tortoise Mind: Why Intelligence Increases When You Think Less.
