Applications must come from local authorities but projects can be led by or involve other organisations. A total of £200,000 is available for 2008/09. The agency is keen to back projects that focus on food hygiene in the home and promote healthy eating by working with disadvantaged groups. One of its key themes is helping children boost their food skills and knowledge. The closing date for England, Northern Ireland and Wales is 29 February.
