In Focus: Holistic support for young people

3 mins read

IN PRACTICE

Young people often report that support services don't work together, especially when they are delivered by different providers or form part of targeted programmes for young people.

However, the Make Space for Health programme is successfully working in partnership with targeted services across Enfield, such as the youth offending and young care leavers' support teams, to reduce duplication of effort and encourage integration between young people and the wider community.

The programme provides free health activities and support. It is delivered in local authorities by a young health champion as part of a partnership between the local authority, the voluntary sector and the private sector. The young health champion runs health activity sessions with other young people and is responsible for creating partnerships between existing provision throughout the community.
