BACKGROUND

This project is a partnership between Oasis Charitable Trust and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. It was initiated by Dr John Criddle who noticed young patients treated in the paediatric emergency department at St Thomas' Hospital as a result of violent incidents were coming back weeks later with new injuries.

The department invited voluntary youth organisations to bid to provide a support service to help prevent these young people being drawn into further violence.
