HOUSING: Hereford Foyer gives chance of new start

The Foyer Federation, following the purchase and redevelopment of a building in Ross-on-Wye, is helping the young people achieve an independent life. Foyers provide safe accommodation linked to employment and training. The St John Kemble Hereford Housing Association funded the project.

December House's facilities include communal kitchens and an information technology suite.

Dave Hilder, project manager, said: "We want to ensure training is used, so that not only are the residents and staff proud of the Foyer, but the community is proud of it too."

Separately, Leah Chamberlain has been appointed to manage the Foyer for south Wiltshire, in Salisbury. She joins the Foyer from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, where she was accommodations manager.
