Homeless to work on Africa project

Youth Work
Four homeless young people from the UK are spending six weeks living and working in Botswana as part of a Centrepoint project called Up 4 Africa.

The young people set off last month and are helping to construct a wildlife orphanage.

Up 4 Africa is part of Centrepoint's Challenge Wise programme, which is encouraging the 800 homeless young people the charity supports each day to undertake physical challenges.

Asha, one of the four young people who is on the trip, has never been out of the UK before. She said: "I think I'll come back with a different mindset about what life is about and appreciate what I have so much more."
