Help from: Queer Youth Alliance

Run by young people, the Queer Youth Alliance was set up by young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people without any assistance from adults. Members do not have to be of LGBT orientation, but they must be under 25 years old.

The alliance aims to raise the profile of gay young people bycampaigning and lobbying for change on issues affecting the LGBTcommunity and young people in general. It publishes Overground, anational magazine that is distributed to schools and colleges, andencourages members to set up branch groups to provide support and acampaigning presence at a local level.

Young people can access support from the organisation's online supportservice, Agony Uncle, as well as seeking advice from their peers throughonline message boards.
