Help from: Federation of Children's Book Groups

The Federation of Children's Book Groups was set up by Anne Wood, creator of The Teletubbies, in 1968 to promote children's books and to ensure that literature is available to children of all ages.

The federation is a parents' organisation linking book groups all overthe UK. Individual groups discuss books and children's reading, hostvisiting speakers and hold book exhibitions and events for children.

It organises The Red House Children's Book Award, which is the onlychildren's book prize that is decided by young readers.

The federation also hosts National Share-a-Story month during May. Themonth celebrates the power of the story and reading aloud.
