Help from ... Champions for Children and Young People in Care

This newly formed special interest group within the Community Visitors and Health Practitioners Association aims to improve the health of looked-after children.

Health professionals, social workers, youth offending teams, fostercarers, care leavers and young people from the care system arewelcome.

Starter packs with samples of policies, protocols and health forms areavailable, as are samples of young person-friendly leaflets explainingthe role of the looked-after children's nurse and the importance oflooked-after children's medicals.

The group is also a "listening ear" that offers to take up members'problems at a national level.
