Heavy competition: School pupil wins weightlifting title

Manchester school pupil Joe Mather has beaten off competition from across the country to win the Junior British Weightlifting Championships.

Joe (above), aged 15, who goes to Brookway High School and Sports College, has been weightlifting for five years. He won the title just before Easter at the championships, which were held at Wright Robinson Sports College.
