Health News: Wales - Service planning to involve children

All Welsh agencies working with children will have to implement policies to ensure the participation of children and young people in planning services that affect them by 2006, if plans floated in the consultation on the principality's national service framework are implemented.

The policy is one of the key actions children's organisations and professionals have been asked to comment on to decide if they should be prioritised.

Other flagged actions include involving children and young people receiving services in regular reviews of how their needs are met, and for all health professionals to record children's information in a personal child health record whenever a child is seen.
