The news came as health secretary Patricia Hewitt ordered a round of NHScuts to eliminate an expected 700m deficit.
Lee Miller, consultancy and training manager for YoungMinds, said thecharity was receiving regular reports from child and adolescent mentalhealth services whose funding had been cut as trusts struggled to reducetheir debts.
"A big issue in these services is the withdrawal of funding in manyareas because of trusts' financial problems. Money given to improveservices is not getting there," he said. "There is a real danger thatchild and adolescent mental health services will not be able to achievea comprehensive service by the 2006 deadline."
Some new services, such as those to improve transition, were not beingput in place, while other services were being cut altogether, he warned.
