Health News: Child protection - Mentors to provide support fornurses

A mentoring system for nurses who work in child protection has been launched.

The initiative was launched at the National Safeguarding ChildrenAssociation for Nurses (NScan) second annual conference last month.

Sue Smith, chair of NScan, said the organisation would be building up adatabase of registered mentors to put members in touch with eachother.

"It's really important for people to feel supported in their new roles.This will enable them to talk to someone who can offer a bit ofsupport."
