Hampshire Alliance of Voluntary Sector Children's and Young People's Organisations has protested about the cuts. They include the removal of subsidies worth 265,000 for voluntary sector use of school facilities and a 10 per cent cut to the 200,000 local authority-funded grant programme for voluntary youth organisations.
The savings were agreed at the county council's budget meeting last Wednesday (21 February).
Alliance chair Cedric Riley, chief executive of Hampshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services, wrote to the leader of Hampshire County Council earlier this month saying organisations were "deeply troubled" at not having been consulted.
County council leader Ken Thornber said the council has been forced to make the savings because of an inadequate government grant.
