Guidance launched to combat trafficking

The London Safeguarding Children Board has created a guidance document to help agencies identify and support children who have been trafficked.

The trafficked children guidance and toolkit are aimed at a range of professionals and includes advice on how services can work together to combat trafficking in their area.

The documents are based on findings from pilot schemes run in 12 local authority areas. These found that once a child is identified as being a victim of trafficking, immediate action must be taken before they go missing. It also found that multiple interviews with various agencies can be traumatic for young victims of trafficking.
