GRANTS: Bristol projects get 500,000 boost

1 min read

The funding was announced last week by Bristol Partnership, an organisation set up in 2001 to tackle deprivation in the city.

Grant recipients include St Paul's Youth Promotion, which will receive 37,000 to develop activities for young people, and Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership, which has been allocated 320,000 to fund three youth projects, including the redevelopment of the CORE (Community Opportunities for Recreation and Education) youth centre. Other proposed schemes include training volunteers in neighbourhood renewal.

Young people will also benefit from a 35,000 grant to Archimedia Knowle West to develop a community media centre. Young people will work on the design brief for the building, which it is hoped will attract new jobs.
