Young people from Newbury and Reading took part in a graffiti workshop in order to consider the problems that illegal graffiti can cause.

Project: Graffiti workshop
Mission: To show young people the negatives of graffiti
Funding: Materials provided by B&Q

Young people from Newbury and Reading in Berkshire were given the chance to emulate the world-famous graffiti artist Banksy when they participated in a workshop organised by the Newbury branch of Connexions Berkshire.

The workshop aimed to get young people, who included local school pupils as well as those who are currently not in education, employment or training, to consider the problems that illegal graffiti can cause, as well as promoting the positive side of the art form.

After gaining expert tips and design guidance from local professional graffiti artist Rory Gallagher, the workshop participants had the opportunity to decorate a nearby skate ramp with their own unique artwork.
