She takes on her role as head of the Supporting Children and Young People Directorate from 1 December, reporting to Tom Jeffery, who starts as director-general of the directorate next week (see YPN, 28 Oct, p2).
The Children and Young People's Unit (CYPU), which controlled the Children's Fund, will cease to exist under that name. Its jurisdiction will fall within Weinstock's unit, which is one of five sub-blocks under Jeffery's control.
The other four directorates are Safeguarding Children and Supporting Families; Starting Early, which includes Sure Start; Workforce and Common Assessment; and Local Transformation, which will exist under the joint command of Jeffery and the Schools Directorate.
