Gloucestershire funds renovations

Thirteen voluntary youth clubs in Gloucestershire have received cash to help build or refurbish their buildings.

Gloucestershire County Council provided the 500,000 pot,accepting bids between 5,000 and 50,000 from youth groupsacross the county. The bids were judged by a panel of county councilstaff with input from a group of young people. This year's fund willhelp to pay for an extension to a skate park, better facilities fordisabled young people and a range of refurbishments to youth clubs.

Stephen McMillan, cabinet member for young people's support, said: "Ihope this grant will make a real difference to these organisations. Weare dedicated to providing young people with a good choice of things todo and places to go."
