Gangs: Parents to learn from young people

1 min read

The Metropolitan Housing Trust South Thames, part of Metropolitan Housing Partnership, launched the scheme last week. Its existing gang awareness course, Rights and Wrongs (RAW) has been developed into the Triangle Way Forward and will be used to train parents in the London borough of Lambeth over 16 weeks.

The course will look at gang culture, legislation and the general challenges faced by young people in the street. The young trainers have completed the course themselves and will be working with voluntary organisation In-volve to deliver it. Funding of about 51,000 has come from Lambeth Council, the Housing Corporation, local police and the partnership.
