The Giving Campaign, set up to increase the amount of money given to the needy, has launched an initiative to encourage young people to step up their involvement with charities.
Giving Nation is targeting secondary schools with the aim of getting young people to carry out more activities for charity. The campaign will finish with a week of summer events.
G-Week is on 23-27 June and 12 awards of 1,000, plus one prize of an overseas trip with the Red Cross, are available.
Carolyn Holcroft, campaign manager for schools, said: "Young people are surprisingly good at giving money. But it's also about advocacy and time."
