The Diversion Partnership Fund replaces the association's Police Partnership Fund. It helps youth groups and youth crime diversion initiatives meet the cost of taking young people on activity breaks at youth hostels in England and Wales.
The association, which says that such breaks offer important benefits for young people and their communities, is opening up the fund to a broader range of organisations. These will include those whose work is not necessarily centred on youth crime reduction but who contribute by offering constructive and positive activities for young people.
Funding will go towards accommodation and meal costs and the cost of activities at the association's two activity centres at YHA Edale, in the Peak District, and YHA Okehampton, in Devon.
