What is it? The Big Lottery Fund's Youth in Focus programme supports disadvantaged young people who are going through difficult life changes. The funding is available for projects in England that work with these young people to improve their confidence.
How much is on offer? Total funds of £30m are available, and projects can apply for grants of between £500,000 and £1m. The Big Lottery Fund expects to award around 30 grants through this scheme. Special grants of £1.5m are on offer to organisations whose projects raise national awareness of the vulnerable young people supported by Youth in Focus.
What will it fund? This particular round of funding will target three specific groups of vulnerable young people aged 10 to 25: young carers; young care leavers; and young people leaving young offender institutions, especially young men with learning difficulties and young women. The money will help these particular young people get access to practical services such as education, housing, healthcare and employment advice.
