The Drinkaware Trust is seeking initiatives to fund in the run-up toChristmas and is urging organisations to get in touch as soon aspossible. It is particularly keen to offer cash to groups working withchildren and young people.
"We think that children and young people are a good audience for alcoholeducation," said grants officer Matthew Bradby. "It's not just somethingfor older teenagers and we often fund work with children aged11-plus."
Recent grants include 2,500 to the Big Foot Theatre Company tocarry out alcohol education workshops with Year 10 pupils in Birmingham.The maximum grant for a community projects is usually 2,500 andthe trust is happy to offer small grants of 50 or 100.Bradby said the kind of things the trust was looking to fund includeresources, theatre projects and training.
