Young people can apply for grants of up to 1,000 forcommunity projects they devise themselves under a scheme launched bySave the Children and British Gas.
A web site, which went live on Monday, will provide a portal for youngvisitors aged 11 to 16 to submit proposals for the Here to Help awardsscheme.
These must fall into one of three categories: young people's health,focusing on sexual and mental health and drug and alcohol abuse; thedevelopment of skills through play and leisure; and community safety'specifically projects that address bullying, racism and isolation.
"What we're able to do with the web site is offer more to young peoplethan just money," said Nicola Manning, Here to Help programmemanager.
