The league, a women's voluntary organisation, has opened its CommunityGrants Programme for 2005/06 and is inviting applications from groupsbased in the capital. The cash is available for specific projectsfocusing on "children in need and the arts".
Projects previously funded by the Junior League include a balletworkshop, run by a school in the Royal Borough of Kensington andChelsea, which was attended by 400 children. Last year, the organisationawarded grants totalling more than 14,000.
The programme funded a number of arts-related projects in conjunctionwith organisations such as East-Side Educational Trust, disabledchildren's charity Kids, and the London International Gallery ofChildren's Art.
The deadline for applications is 20 January, with the successful biddersdue to be notified by March 2006.
