The Commission on Unclaimed Assets is producing a report that is expected to influence the Government's plans. In last year's pre-Budget report the Chancellor, Gordon Brown, said he was keen to see money invested in youth services.
The National Youth Agency is calling for some of the money to be spent on buildings and staff to provide youth services.
The commission published a consultation paper in July. Toby Eccles, a member of the secretariat of the commission, said it had received more than 1,000 responses.
Its final report is due in time for the Budget next spring.
This year's pre-Budget report, out today (Wednesday), was due to be published alongside findings from the Treasury and Department for Education and Skills' Children and Young People's Review. The review is likely to back integrated youth support services.
