Funding: Sector buoyed as Big Lottery frees up 12m

1 min read

The National Trust received one of the largest grants, 1.2m, which it will use to fund a project called Getting into the Past, with The Prince's Trust.

This will allow nearly 700 disadvantaged young people to take part in The Prince's Trust's Team vocational training programme, before being offered a placement for six to nine months at a National Trust property.

The Children's Rights Alliance for England has also been successful, receiving 863,193 to run a scheme gathering young people's views on their rights.

Its initiative will be based around a web site, and it will recruit about 200 young people to act as children's rights champions across the country.
