The Leaders' Committee of the organisation, which was previously known as the Association of London Government, is in charge of a budget of 28m.
It has agreed to fund a number of areas of work for children and young people in the next year, including play, youth homelessness, improving educational attainment, bullying reduction, helpline ChildLine, and work with young Muslims.
The process of allocating funding became dogged by controversy when the Voluntary Sector Forum called on the committee to ensure the full spend was made for the sector (YPN, 30 August-5 September, p6).
Other priorities identified include funding for the London Youth Games, the 2012 Olympics, child poverty work, interventions for young witnesses of domestic violence, and work to reduce gun and knife crime.
