The money, from the Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe philanthropic arm of the business, will fund New Londoners, which provides advice and support to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people in the capital.
The project is currently funded by the charity's voluntary income and the Connexions service but a Children's Society spokeswoman said the grant would a make "a substantial contribution" to its running costs. "It is really difficult to get corporates to support this kind of work," she added.
Andrea Sullivan, head of philanthropy for Lehman Brothers in Europe and the Middle East, said: "We look forward to working together and exploring opportunities for our staff to become involved with the project."
