The Football Foundation has earmarked nearly 4m to replace unsafe goalposts in a bid to cut the numbers of young players killed or seriously injured by dangerous posts and crossbars. The foundation is calling for funding applications from schools, community groups and football clubs. Fifty per cent funding is available up to a ceiling of 1,500. www.
