Four Acre Trust

1 min read
What it is: The Four Acre Trust offers funding to charities that provide vocational guidance and respite breaks to children, young people and their families.

The trust supports organisations that exist to prevent problems from occurring, instead of trying to cure them. It is particularly interested in funding organisations that involve volunteers.

How much is on offer: Grants are available from £3,000 to £75,000.

What it will fund: The Four Acre Trust supports projects that help children and young people to make the most of their lives, by doing things which they would otherwise be unable to do. For this reason the trust will fund clubs or centres, which provide various activities for young people. Holiday activity schemes are also eligible for funding, as long as they take place away from schools. The trust subsidises holidays and respite breaks for beneficiaries including young carers. Applicants do not have to provide innovative projects but they do need to prove they can make a difference to young lives.
