Film: Dispersal DVD set to make its mark

1 min read

Young people in Wirral, Merseyside, have spent nine months creating a DVD looking at dispersal orders from their perspective and from that of the police. The project, called "Misund-Astood", was commissioned by Connexions Greater Merseyside and was run by Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP).

It involved 25 young people dressing in police uniforms, and police officers wearing hoodies to create a better understanding for both groups of what life is like on the other side of the fence.

Jackie Gray, Connexions' PAYP personal adviser, said the film will be launched mid-September and hoped it would be used as an educational tool. "We hope agencies can use it to educate and work with young people so the work goes beyond what this group has done," she said.
