Field trip inspires Midlands women

Youth Work
A group of young women from a youth project in north Warwickshire have held a celebration event to mark their new-found confidence.

The members of Ley Young People's Project invited their friends and family to an event at Ansley Village Hall last month, where they demonstrated some of the skills they had learned on the programme, including cooking.

Members of the group recently visited London on a field trip and were moved to put on their own event after seeing the musical Hairspray in the West End.

Sixteen-year-old Kelsey Varden said she has enjoyed the project. "Our London trip was wicked, a bit ravin'," she said. "My favourite bit was going to Camden Market."
