Far from home: Young people lend a hand overseas

The first group of young people to benefit from a government-funded gap year programme have returned to the UK.

More than 400 young people have taken part in the Platform2 trips, which give 18- to 25-year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to take part in 10-week international development programmes in countries such as Ghana.
